Front Desk Manager

Position Overview

The front desk manager is Lab 7’s hospitality and overall coworking operations manager with the primary goal of ensuring a positive, warm, and welcoming coworking experience for all Lab 7 community members and visitors


 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create a positive and welcoming environment

  • Oversee the security of the space during your shifts, ensuring members and the Lab 7 property are safe and secure

  • Be aware of all events and meeting room bookings for the day

  •  Solve member related issues with professionalism and patience

  • Make sure the kitchen is clean at all times and coffee/tea/water is always stocked

  • Make sure that all phone calls/emails are answered and returned promptly

  • Make recommendations on any repairs, maintenance, replacement, purchases or updates required in the space. Identifying and resolving issues presented, i.e. insufficient cleaning, repeating IT-related failures, malfunctioning conference room equipment etc.

  • Oversee meeting room bookings, external and internal.

  • Order more fobs and program them for new members as needed

  • Recommend and implement on-boarding processes, making sure that members understand community norms and get connected to the broader community

  • Recommend, and implement rules, systems, guidelines, and best practices and programming for the community to optimize member engagement 

  • When required conduct tours and oversee timely lead follow up

  • Assist in event space set up

  • Ensure that our social media channels, and website are appropriately posting our upcoming events (externally and internally), showing off our events as they happen, and celebrating our members and community (work with Digital Media Lead as needed)

  • Convert outside bookings, event attendees, and guest check-ins into memberships 

  • Empty trash cans as needed

  • Restock: Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Printer Paper, Printer Ink, Hand soap (as needed)

  • Brew Coffee

  • Play appropriate Lab 7 tunes throughout business hours

  • Ensure door is open throughout business hours and locked outside of business hours

  • Deliver packages to appropriate Lab 7 community members

  • Rent out laptops to Lab 7 community members and ensure laptops are always charging

  • Ensure the space is well presented at all times

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent people skills

  • Background in customer experience, marketing and communications preferred

  • Some college experience

  • Ability to work events

  • Positive attitude

  • Adaptability to changing environments

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Knowledge of wealth and education disparities in underserved communities

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
